My research focuses on mechanical deformation, fluid flow, and heat transfer in discontinuous and fractured porous media. To achieve this, I apply numerical tools to model discontinuities, including diffusive (smeared) approaches like Phase-Field Fracture Theory, and sharp interface techniques such as X-FEM. I am also interested in developing new computational schemes to overcome the challenges and limitations of classical approaches.
