Forschung

Mein Hauptinteresse gilt den Auswirkungen und Ursprüngen des Magmatismus auf der Erde, sowohl in der Gegenwart als auch in der fernen Vergangenheit. Ich beschäftige mich mit Themen wie der Bildung der Erdkruste und des lithosphärischen Mantels und dem globalen Kreislauf der Elemente auf der Ebene des gesamten Planeten bis hin zu Untersuchungen der Magmakanalsysteme von Vulkanen auf lokaler Ebene.

Meine derzeitige Forschung konzentriert sich auf rezente Eruptionen auf der Reykjanes-Halbinsel, Magmatismus entlang des isländischen Plumes und des Grabens, geochemischen Provinzialismus innerhalb des ostafrikanischen Grabens und das Verständnis von Prozessen im globalen Maßstab durch die Isotopengeochemie des Erdmantels.
